Rebecca+Mark

This is the first time I'm featuring a couple on my blog. I really don't have any plans to do a lot of this, but since this special couple won the first ever contest held by K Sherrie+Company, I think they deserve the honor. So here they are: Rebecca+Mark! And in her own words, how they met:

HOW WE MET
We met on jdate.com. Finding your true love online can really work and I highly recommend it. I figured that it is safer than meeting at a bar. Mark happened to have a friend (Dan) who had a subscription to jdate which gave him the ability to send jdate emails. Mark happened to be online one night when Dan IM’d Mark and asked if he wanted him to email anyone on jdate for him (Mark) because his subscription was about to run out. Mark asked Dan to email me. At the time I got the email, I was really busy and didn’t answer Mark for a whole week. Mark had given up on me by then. However, I did email him and we ended up meeting for coffee a week or so later. We talked and talked and when the shop closed we continued to talk outside. By the end of that night we both knew that we had something special.

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED

Mark and I took a vacation to Traverse City, Michigan for a week. (For the Buckeye fans out there, please ignore the fact that we were in the state “up north”.) We went blueberry picking half way up Old Mission Peninsula. It was a beautiful drive so we decided to drive to the tip of the Peninsula. We took a walk on the beach and saw that we could take a path to the very tip of the peninsula on a sand bar. So about 15 minutes later we were at the very end, surrounded by water. It was so beautiful. Mark handed me the camera and told me to take some pictures. I didn’t think anything of it and began to snap away. Meanwhile, he took the ring out of his backpack and put it in his pocket. When I turned around he took both of my hands and told me that nothing would make him happier than if I would spend the rest of my life with him. He then got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I said yes! It was a magical moment.

Congratulations, guys and I can't wait for your August 2, 2008 wedding!
