Purple Reign

On this frosty, icy day here in Indiana, let this board inspire your spring or autumn wedding. We already know that purple is going to be hot, hot, hot this year--any bright and amazing color will be, as a matter of fact. I constructed this inspiration board some time ago when I was surfing the Nordstrom website and their ode to Fashion Week. If you haven't watched their Town Car Chronicles--log on now! The center dress inspired me to go purple. It's a handmade, couture gown by Rodarte. And, what's more? GIRL POWER: Rodarte is the baby of two young American women, Laura and Kate, who are taking the fashion world by storm with their creativity and design. The amethyst gown was a representation of Peter Som's takeover as creative director of Bill Blass. I must say, I was quite impressed with the Fall 2008 collection. Peter really made over the classic look and lines of the Bill Blass name and made it modern and 21st century. He should surely gain some new clientele with this young and fresh line. Must buy: wide-leg trousers.
